Found this article when rtniyg to help a buddy who's Dad has healed due to the 12 steps but denies that his Higher Power is Jesus or God. You cite Acts 17:25 which I also found to be telling. To organize my thoughts I am made a list of how the 12 steps mirror the steps to salvation. Kinda seems like a slam dunk But I come at it from the other direction.Step 2-Admit that there is a God who is in controlStep 3-Decide to follow Him (turn from our sin is a consequence of this but that would come after Step 5)Step 5-Admit our sinsStep 7-Ask Him to change us (lead my life)Step 11 is not a specific step on the path to salvation but still an important step to growing Christlike. Pray for knowledge of and the power to follow His will and not our own.It has occurred to me that many 12 step followers have a more personal, reliant relationship with God than many who profess to be seeking Him. A real 1st hand knowledge of just what God can do. hmmm
